What can I say--we had 2 major gatherings here, we have friends willing to travel from New York to eat here--and we are having dinner here two to three times a month. As a former restaurant owner -- this place is great.

I had dinner at Sapori for my birthday celebration last weekend. I have to say that everything was up to par. The service, the drinks, the food, and the atmosphere really is absolutely lovely. It started with a nice Malbec at the bar, and then appetizers arrived which included the grilled octopus, fried calamari, and the beef carpaccio. All of these were exceptionally delicious. My main dish was the broiled halibut on a bed of broccoli rabe with roasted potatoes on the side. Very well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The meal ended with a simple lemon sorbet that was like no lemon sorbet I've ever tasted in my life. It was as if they froze lemonade, and shaved it into a lemon peel. I am sorry there are no photos, but everything was so good. We literally sucked it all in fast.

FATHERS DAY 2024 This restaurant is a shining example of what freshly prepared Italian food and good service looks like. Quite possibly the service was bordering on over attentive. Which I don't mind. We ordered the crab cakes, (pictured) they were fresh and slightly crunchy with a side sauce of honey mustard sauce. The calamari appetizer was delicious, crunchy, fresh and were large pieces of amazing fried fish w/ Lemons on the side. My wife had the grilled octopus which she throughly enjoyed on a bed of fresh arugula. We ended the meal with a had lobster in a bed of linguini with clams on the half shell & mussels in a delicious clear sauce. Fresh seafood, a great bottle of wine and some fresh bread, that kept coming non-stop. Plus, I forgot to mention, the purely Italian style skinny long salty breadsticks, were kicking & fabulous. The inside is a mix of classy and casual. Although my one minor complaint was that the seat I was on was bumpy and uncomfortable. I would rather have sat on a chair & been more comfortable. Come to this restaurant and enjoy its early Italian culinary delights! You will not regret it. One more thing, the price, I thought was reasonable. Buin Appetito and get your hungry asses here pronto!!

Back again. Came for the dessert. Stawberries with Zabaglione. Started to order from the menu when the waiter recommended a special which was Veal Valdostano. It was a veal chop stuffed with prosciutto, mozzarella and mushrooms. One of the entrées was a pasta dish. Another was Dover sole that gets prepared and served table side. Of course, I was in the mood for Johnny Walker, red and soda. When it came time for dessert I passed because I was too full after my Veal dinner which was over the top. My daughter and her husband had my favorite dessert which is made at table side this time by the manager. I only had room for cappuccino. I told my clan we have to come here more often. Especially if I have to come back just for the Zabaglione sauce over strawberries.Sal E New Rochelle
